Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; |

| eiV to mhketi anqrwpwn epiqumiaiV alla qelhmati qeou ton epiloipon en sarki biwsai cronon
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. |
|
| arketoV gar hmin o parelhluqwV cronoV tou biou to qelhma twn eqnwn katergasasqai peporeumenouV en aselgeiaiV epiqumiaiV oinoflugiaiV kwmoiV potoiV kai aqemitoiV eidwlolatreiaiV
For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: |

| en w xenizontai mh suntrecontwn umwn eiV thn authn thV aswtiaV anacusin blasfhmounteV
Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: |

| oi apodwsousin logon tw etoimwV econti krinai zwntaV kai nekrouV
Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. |
|
| eiV touto gar kai nekroiV euhggelisqh ina kriqwsin men kata anqrwpouV sarki zwsin de kata qeon pneumati
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. |

| pantwn de to teloV hggiken swfronhsate oun kai nhyate eiV taV proseucaV
But the end of all things is at hand be ye therefore sober and watch unto prayer. |
|
| pro pantwn de thn eiV eautouV agaphn ektenh econteV oti agaph kaluyei plhqoV amartiwn
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. |
|
| filoxenoi eiV allhlouV aneu goggusmwn
Use hospitality one to another without grudging. |
|
| ekastoV kaqwV elaben carisma eiV eautouV auto diakonounteV wV kaloi oikonomoi poikilhV caritoV qeou
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another , as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. |
|
| ei tiV lalei wV logia qeou ei tiV diakonei wV ex iscuoV hV corhgei o qeoV ina en pasin doxazhtai o qeoV dia ihsou cristou w estin h doxa kai to kratoV eiV touV aiwnaV twn aiwnwn amhn
If any man speak let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister let him do it as of the ability which God giveth that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. |

| agaphtoi mh xenizesqe th en umin purwsei proV peirasmon umin ginomenh wV xenou umin sumbainontoV
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: |

| alla kaqo koinwneite toiV tou cristou paqhmasin cairete ina kai en th apokaluyei thV doxhV autou carhte agalliwmenoi
But rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy |

| ei oneidizesqe en onomati cristou makarioi oti to thV doxhV kai to tou qeou pneuma ef umaV anapauetai kata men autouV blasfhmeitai kata de umaV doxazetai
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of but on your part he is glorified |

| mh gar tiV umwn pascetw wV foneuV h klepthV h kakopoioV h wV allotrioepiskopoV
But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. |

| ei de wV cristianoV mh aiscunesqw doxazetw de ton qeon en tw merei toutw
Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God on this behalf. |

| oti o kairoV tou arxasqai to krima apo tou oikou tou qeou ei de prwton af hmwn ti to teloV twn apeiqountwn tw tou qeou euaggeliw
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God ? |

| kai ei o dikaioV moliV swzetai o asebhV kai amartwloV pou faneitai
And if the righteous scarcely be saved where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear |
|
| wste kai oi pasconteV kata to qelhma tou qeou wV pistw ktisth paratiqesqwsan taV yucaV eautwn en agaqopoiia
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. |
