| peri de twn eidwloqutwn oidamen oti panteV gnwsin ecomen h gnwsiV fusioi h de agaph oikodomei
Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up but charity edifieth |

| ei de tiV dokei eidenai ti oudepw ouden egnwken kaqwV dei gnwnai
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know |
|
| ei de tiV agapa ton qeon outoV egnwstai up autou
But if any man love God, the same is known of him. |
|
| peri thV brwsewV oun twn eidwloqutwn oidamen oti ouden eidwlon en kosmw kai oti oudeiV qeoV eteroV ei mh eiV
As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. |

| kai gar eiper eisin legomenoi qeoi eite en ouranw eite epi thV ghV wsper eisin qeoi polloi kai kurioi polloi
For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth , there be gods many, and lords many,) |
|
| all hmin eiV qeoV o pathr ex ou ta panta kai hmeiV eiV auton kai eiV kurioV ihsouV cristoV di ou ta panta kai hmeiV di autou
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. |

| all ouk en pasin h gnwsiV tineV de th suneidhsei tou eidwlou ewV arti wV eidwloquton esqiousin kai h suneidhsiV autwn asqenhV ousa molunetai
Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled |

| brwma de hmaV ou paristhsin tw qew oute gar ean fagwmen perisseuomen oute ean mh fagwmen usteroumeqa
But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat are we the better neither, if we eat not, are we the worse |

| blepete de mhpwV h exousia umwn auth proskomma genhtai toiV asqenousin
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak |
|
| ean gar tiV idh se ton econta gnwsin en eidwleiw katakeimenon ouci h suneidhsiV autou asqenouV ontoV oikodomhqhsetai eiV to ta eidwloquta esqiein
For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; |

| kai apoleitai o asqenwn adelfoV epi th sh gnwsei di on cristoV apeqanen
And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish for whom Christ died |
|
| outwV de amartanonteV eiV touV adelfouV kai tuptonteV autwn thn suneidhsin asqenousan eiV criston amartanete
But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. |

| dioper ei brwma skandalizei ton adelfon mou ou mh fagw krea eiV ton aiwna ina mh ton adelfon mou skandalisw
Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend I will eat no flesh while the world standeth , lest I make my brother to offend |
