The Book of Psalms

Chapter 53

1

To the chief Musician18 upon Mahalath, Maschil, 7919 56 [A Psalm] of David.
The fool hath said1 in his heart, [There is] no God. Corrupt52 are they, and have done abominable52 iniquity: [there is] none that doeth6 good.

2

God looked down52 from heaven upon the children of men, to see2 if there were [any] that did understand,56 that did seek6 God.

3

Every one of them is gone back:1 they are altogether become filthy;8 [there is] none that doeth6 good, no, not one.

4

Have the workers6 of iniquity no knowledge?1 who eat up6 my people [as] they eat1 bread: they have not called1 upon God.

5

There were they in great fear,1 [where] no fear was: for God hath scattered14 the bones of him that encampeth6 [against] thee: thou hast put [them] to shame,52 because God hath despised1 them.

6

Oh that4 the salvation of Israel [were come] out of Zion! When God bringeth back2 the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice,4 [and] Israel shall be glad.4
