Chapter 6

1

To the chief Musician18 on Neginoth upon Sheminith, 8066 A Psalm of David.
O LORD, rebuke55 me not in thine anger, neither chasten17 me in thy hot displeasure.

2

Have mercy3 upon me, O LORD; for I [am] weak: O LORD, heal3 me; for my bones are vexed.8

3

My soul is also sore vexed:8 but thou, O LORD, how long?

4

Return,3 O LORD, deliver16 my soul: oh save54 me for thy mercies' sake.

5

For in death [there is] no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?55

6

I am weary1 with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim;55 I water55 my couch with my tears.

7

Mine eye is consumed1 because of grief; it waxeth old1 because of all mine enemies.6

8

Depart3 from me, all ye workers6 of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard1 the voice of my weeping.

9

The LORD hath heard1 my supplication; the LORD will receive4 my prayer.

10

Let all mine enemies6 be ashamed4 and sore vexed:11 let them return4 [and] be ashamed4 suddenly.
