Chapter 10

And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

(a) Canaanite is not a national description but is the Aramaic for the Greek "Zelotes" (Luke 6:15, Acts 1:13) = Zealot : so called from his zeal for the Law.

Strongs #5056 "telos", from the primary "tello" (to set out for a definite point or goal), final outcome, limit, tax or payment.

Not to be confused with Strongs #4930 "sunteleia" - entire completion, consumation of a dispensation, termination.
